A classic horror story of the uppermost type. I will have to admit that this was a re reading of this classic gothic narrative whilst laid up after a semi serious illness in the summer of 2023, well certainly one that could have caused my demise.
So it seems a good place to start for certainly a recommended book to read. It certainly is a book not to be rushed. its a novel to be soaked up by its every word.
Its a story that man know and may have read or seen the various adaptation on the silver screen. But it certainly is a novel to be read in its own right.
A tale of I'm everyone's innermost fears of the unknown and out of ones control. The fears one has as a child at night when all is quiet, still and menacing. What is lurking in the darkness watching and waiting for its moment to control you to decide your destiny. Will you survive until the dawn comes and let you escape from the dark imposed prison of the night? If you do escape its clutches of power over you but its still lurking following controlling you every fear. The strength of will required to overcome and escape from its power.
