I'll start with the why.

I certainly like collecting books that fall into my sphere of interest to add to my library. My interest mainly being in, Christian Theology, Philosophy, History, Poetry, Classic Literature and other random subjects that appeal to me, from about 500 AD till the end of the Victorian era with some drift over to more modern writings up to the end of the 1950's. Translations of earlier writing being published after the end of the 1950's are generally quite acceptable. But I'm certainly no real fan of modern day fiction from the beginning of the 1960's up to the present day. Honestly the older the book the more I'm interested. Though its not all about the age of the book, its about the content of them where my interest is focused.

Building my library is a case of you will never know what you will find on the second hand market. Also I do purchase new books but theses will be reprints and translations of much earlier works.

Honestly I've tried reading modern writers works but for me there is very little of interest to me.
